<p>Most of the time when people begin an exercise program they make two crucial mistakes &#8211; they workout to often and at to high an intensity.  When you first begin your motivation and level of commitment is high, you are willing to do just about anything.  After a few sessions the will to exercise drops off a bit and the less effort you put forth and before you know it your done.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff;">There is a better Way!</span></p>
<p>The first thing you need to do is create an exercise habit.  Most likely working out is not something you enjoy doing.  For this reason it will be important to find things you like, so long as it is an exercise it counts.  Start out slow and just make sure you do something about 3 days the first week.  No more then 10 minutes each session.  Each week add a little bit more to the workout, either up the time, intensity or exercises.  You need to enjoy what you are doing, when it hurts to bad to walk up the steps the next day, you are more likely to quit sooner.</p>
<p>I understand doing it my way will not get you fast results, however it will help you create a habit.  In my opinion it is more important to make exercise lifelong instead of a 2 month journey you stop suddenly.</p>
<p>Once exercise becomes a habit you can then add the hard stuff in and workout more often.  The results will come and you are an avid lifelong exerciser.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was at a meeting this week and happened to overhear a lady talking about how she wanted to lose some weight but did not want to exercise or diet.  After telling her story she launched in to what she was trying.  She gets all the latest fitness magazines and she bought a new book &#034;How to Lose Weight Without Diet &amp; Exercise&#034;.</p>
<p>I never did find a very good place to insert myself in that particular conversation, so I kept my mouth closed.  Had I talked to her I probably would have addressed her current habits.  Let me explain.</p>
<p>I recently read a book about our habits and how to change them.  The book talked about how powerful our habits are. They really help to define our character because our habits are an accumulation of all the little things we do all day long consciously and unconsciously.</p>
<p>In my business I deal with the forming of new habits and lifestyles every day.  I find that some people are so much more successful than others when it comes to changing their habits. </p>
<p>The book identified three things necessary to change or create a new habit.  Knowledge, skill and desire.  Let me give an example, I know what my workout is (knowledge), I know how to do the workout (skill) and I want to do the workout (desire).</p>
<p>As in the example, my lady up above, she was missing some critical pieces.  Her weight is a product of her environment and habits.  Her lifestyle habits need to change before she will ever be able to lose the weight.</p>
<p>Next time you want something changed start with your habits.  Make sure you have all 3 critical areas covered and see if it doesn&#039;t work better. </p>
